Bonjour Minnesota on KFAI Radio is broadcasted weekly on Tuesdays from 8:00 to 10:00 pm at 90.3 FM Minneapolis / St. Paul. Each week, we bring you new music from France and French speaking countries with focused interviews on community related topics and the event calendar. Bonjour Minnesota occasionally has live shows with local musicians such as The New Riverside Ramblers, Dan Newton’s Café Accordion Orchestra, Whale in the Thames and others, who feature a French repertoire of music. Our Story

Created early in the 1980's on KFAI, Bonjour Minnesota was first scheduled on Tuesday mornings. Later on, it was moved to Tuesday nights from 8 pm to 10 pm.

In 1982, LSCF (La Societe Canadienne Francaise du Minnesota) Carmelle Pommepuy and Francine Courtemanche Roche noted that KFAI, a 25-watt neighborhood radio station in Minneapolis, was looking for persons to broadcast programs of a special interest. The show, "Moi et l'Autre" (Me and the Other) premiered in 1982, presenting music and conversation with a FrenchCanadian and French flavor.

In 1984, Carmelle and Francine were on to other things. The slot was taken over by Georgette Pfannkuch, in a program called "Bonjour Minnesota". Later Georgette was joined by Caryl Minetti. Georgette continued on the program till her death in 2008, and Caryl and Georgette's husband Olaf continued the program until they could not.
